Bellagio Releases Five-Star World Poker Classic Schedule
The schedule for the 2010 Five-Star World Poker Classic has been released by Bellagio and one thing that will jump out at players is the preliminary events schedule. Each one of the 18 preliminary events features a $1,000 buy-in with rebuys. Two of those events will be pot-limit Omaha while the rest will spread no-limit hold’em. Card Player spoke with the tournament director at Bellagio, Jack McClelland (pictured right), about the changes in the preliminary schedule. “We had some rebuy tournaments this time [2009 Five-Diamond World Poker Classic and we had a very good response to them. What it does is it gives the players options. The players that can’t afford to play in a $5,000 event or a $3,000 event, they can afford to play in a $1,000 event, and still take a shot at the big money. Now the players that can afford to and want to reload to super-size their stack, they can do that too. Now the guy with the silver bullet, the one $1,000 buy-in, he might not get there as often but when he does he might pick up a quarter of a million dollars on his thousand, as opposed to $50-60,000,” said McClelland
Toto Leonidas Leading Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Classic
Toto Leonidas made Tuesday his day at the World Poker Tour Doyle Brunson Five Diamond Poker Classic at Bellagio. Leonidas finished Day 2 with 355,000 chips which puts him just ahead of the 340,000 of Sorel Mizzi.
Luske Releasing Album with Bellagio Concert
Apparently Dutch Team PokerStars Pro Marcel Luske plans to do more than play poker at Bellagio this week.
Luske, who has more than $3.7 million in career live tournament winnings and is widely hailed as one of the best dressed players in the game, is set to release his debut album with a live concert at Bellagio’s Fontana Lounge in Las Vegas Dec. 20.

Five-Diamond World Poker Classic Tournament Series Preview
The last major tournament series of the year will begin on Friday, Nov. 27, when cards get into the air for the 2009 Five-Diamond World Poker Classic at Bellagio. The first event is a $500 no-limit hold’em event that is sponsored by SpadeClub.com. The tournament series will host a total of 18 events and the games spread will include no-limit hold’em, Omaha eight-or-better, pot-limit Omaha, and H.O.R.S.E. The tournament series will conclude with the World Poker Tour Doyle Brunson Classic $15,000 no-limit hold’em championship that begins on Monday, Dec. 14 and crowns a champion on Saturday, Dec. 19.
