Internet Gambling Bill Introduced in New Jersey
Legalized internet gambling and online poker may be coming to New Jersey. State Senator Raymond Lesniak introduced S 3167, which specifically legalizes the internet version of popular brick and mortar games like poker, roulette, baccarat, blackjack, craps, the big six wheel, slot machines, mini baccarat, red dog, pai gow, and sic bo.
David Carruthers Gets 33 Months Jail Time in BetOnSports Case
In April, former BetOnSports CEO David Carruthers pled guilty to racketeering charges stemming from his operation of the popular online sports book. He faced up to 33 months in prison and a maximum sentence was handed down on Friday.

NBA May Reconsider Legalized Sports Betting Stance
One of the biggest obstacles in passing pro-internet gaming legislation has always been sports leagues that staunchly oppose any bill that might open the door to legalized sports betting. Pennsylvania Gambles With Poker and Table Games in Legislature
Pennsylvania and poker have not had an illustrious history. Most recently, in August of 2009, a court case resulted in a 65-year old man being found guilty of hosting poker tournaments in 2007, and the judge refuted the argument that poker was a game of skill when rendering his decision. But the state has now decided to attempt passage of legislation that would create jobs and revenue by allowing table games, including poker, in Pennsylvania casinos.
